Position: School Cleaner (Full time – 15 hours per week. Mon‑Fri, 3 hours per day, 52 weeks per year).

Location: Tipton (DY4) – a specialist college for boys and girls aged 11‑19 with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as keyholder – set and immobilise school alarms, respond to alarm callouts on rota, operate school security systems as directed.
  • Resolve day‑to‑day operational problems and refer to the Headteacher as necessary.
  • Assist with organisation and completion of major periodic cleaning activities: internal and external window cleaning, carpet and floor cleaning, light fittings, walls, blinds, chairs and tables.
  • Operate cleaning machinery and equipment safely.
  • Complete statutory safeguarding training and follow school policies.
  • Report major defects in building, equipment and security systems to the Headteacher/Secretary.
  • Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials from approved suppliers and arrange replacement stock through the school Secretary.
