We are recruiting a Full Time Occupational Therapist to work across three SEN schools in the Manchester area, based in Oldham, Rochdale and Wigan.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated OT who will deliver evidence‑based, therapeutic care in line with Horizon’s SHINE Therapeutic Model of Care.
You will support young people with social, emotional, mental health and neurodiverse needs, and provide advice and training to education teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence‑based therapeutic and psychologically informed care that aligns with Horizon’s values.
- Conduct OT assessments of young people to identify individual needs and develop individualized and group‑based intervention programmes.
- Provide specialist OT advice and guidance to young people’s plans, including behaviour plans, teaching plans, risk assessments and EHCPs.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate therapeutic training to all staff in the organisation.
- Use outcome and evaluation tools to measure service effectiveness and report data to the Head of SEND.
- Provide specialist knowledge of OT principles and techniques through consultation and guidance to other colleagues.
- Attend regular team meetings and CPD days with other colleagues.
Requirements
- Full driving licence.
- Relevant degree qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Strong desire to work with children and support their development.
