Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a Premises Manager to be based at our Croydon site. The school is an SEN Primary school for 50 children. Our specialist independent schools offer unrivalled opportunities, securing sound educational outcomes with personalised, inclusive, and stimulating programmes of learning. We provide education and support to children and young people who have complex special educational needs and require their SEN provision to be delivered in a specialist setting.
The role will be an initial 3-6 month placement with the possibility of going permanent on completion of the probation period.
PROFILE:Responsibilities include:
- Managing the school sites and vehicles.
- Completing maintenance tasks and carrying out compliance checks.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained site at all times.
- Working independently across 2 school sites with a variety of responsibilities and tasks.
- Utilising established handyman/maintenance skills for both internal and external works.
- Health & Safety awareness and safe working practices.
- Managing contractors while on site.
- Opening and shutting the site each day.
- Completing administrative tasks via paperwork and electronically.
- Managing the cleaning staff and ensuring the site is clean and tidy.
- Completing compliance checks and managing external contractors for compliance works, including fire, legionella (water), asbestos, and gas/electrical.
- Good computer skills, including basic email, Word, and Excel.
- Being fit and able to lift and move items relevant to the role.
- Working both inside and outside as needed.
- Providing a high level of customer service.
- Supervising external contractors when needed.
- Showing responsibility for a high level of finish to all works undertaken.
- Reading and understanding risk assessments and method statements, safe systems of work.
- Ensuring tools and parts used are of the required standard.
- Maintaining and regularly cleaning vehicles.
- Being prepared to work irregular hours if required to complete urgent tasks.
- Any other duties relevant to the post as requested by the Head of School.
