Horizon Care and Education is expanding and seeks a peripatetic teacher for the Alternative Learning Pathway (HALP) team in Long Eaton. The role involves delivering short‑term, personalised learning programmes for pupils aged 8–25 through home tutoring, mentoring and online learning. The teacher will be based at Meadowbrook School but will work across various non‑school settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small group instruction, adapting lessons to individual learning needs.
- Attend meetings and training at Meadowbrook School and support school lessons when required.
- Build and maintain excellent educational relationships with students.
- Travel to students’ homes or community sites, using personal vehicle; mileage will be reimbursed.
Qualifications
- QTS or QTLS.
- Proven teaching and learning experience.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
- Energy, passion and drive to create engaging lessons.
- Initiative, vision and excellent planning/organisational skills.
- Experience and passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH in 1‑to‑1 or small group settings.
