Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a Premises Manager to be based at our Meadowbrook School, a brand-new independent specialist day school located in Long Eaton, Nottingham, serving pupils aged 5-19 with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism. Refurbishment is currently underway with completion scheduled for late Summer.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the school sites and vehicles, completing maintenance tasks, carrying out compliance checks, and ensuring a safe, clean and well‑maintained site at all times.
- Work independently across the school site with a variety of daily and weekly responsibilities.
- Utilise established handyman/maintenance skills for both internal and external works.
- Maintain health & safety awareness and safe working practices.
- Manage contractors while on site, supervise external contractors when needed, and read and understand risk assessments and method statements.
- Open and close the site each day.
- Complete administrative tasks via paperwork and electronically.
- Manage cleaning staff and ensure the site is clean and tidy at all times.
- Completing compliance checks and managing external contractors for fire, legionella, asbestos and gas/electrical compliance works.
- Use basic computer skills, including email, Word and Excel.
- Be fit and able to lift and move items relevant to the role, and work inside and outside as required.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Show responsibility for a high level of finish to all works undertaken.
- Ensure tools and parts used are of the required standard.
- Maintain and regularly clean vehicles.
- Be prepared to work irregular hours if required to complete urgent tasks.
- Perform any other duties relevant to the post as requested by the Head of School.

- Good computer skills with basic use of email, Word and Excel.
- Physical fitness to lift and move items.
- Ability to work independently and manage contractor relationships.
