Horizon Care and Education offers an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Headteacher at Brewood School in Deal, Kent. Brewood School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged 11‑18 with special educational needs, including SEN, SLCN, Autism, ADHD, PDA, and SEMH. The school has two learning sites: the new Mill Hill site for upper school (KS4 and KS5) and the London Road site for lower school (KS3).

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes for pupils as a trusted member of the senior management team.
  • Implement effective policies and procedures that support high educational standards.
  • Assist the Head Teacher with the day‑to‑day running of the school.
  • Strategically oversee the school’s resources to support the achievement of educational objectives and priorities effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Head Teacher to articulate, disseminate, and implement the school’s vision among all stakeholders.
  • Prioritise pupil achievement, safety, and well‑being as the core focus of all school activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • QTS or QTLS qualification.
  • Similar senior leadership team experience in an SEN environment.
  • Up‑to‑date OFSTED knowledge and familiarity with the SEN education sector and desired outcomes.
  • Current safeguarding and child‑protection qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of children and young people.
