Horizon Care and Education have an opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our team to ensure exceptional care and a nurturing environment for our young people in our children's home.
As a Deputy Manager, you will support young people in the many different aspects of daily life within our homes including:
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Home Manager in all aspects of running the home, including compliance, safeguarding, and quality assurance, ensuring that the home aligns with our values and standards and financial planning.
- Lead and inspire a team, providing supervision, appraisal, professional development and training.
- Manage the home effectively in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Ensure a safe, homely environment and maintain high standards of care.
- Manage health and safety protocols, risk assessments and ensure training for the team is compliant.
- Liaise with professionals and contribute to care planning.
- What We’re Looking For
- Full UK Manual Driving licence
- Level 3 in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce Qualification
- At least 1 year experience as a Senior Residential Care worker in a Children’s Home setting.
- Ability to be a great role model to looked-after children.
- Be a strong leader with good team management skills, and ability to build trusting relationships with staff and looked-after children.
- A genuine care and compassion to work with looked-after children
- Flexibility to work shifts that include evenings and weekends, sleep-ins and bank holidays.
