We are looking for an inspirational SENCO Assistant to assist the Senior Leadership team at our Aspire Primary School based in Croydon. We are primarily looking for a candidate with SEN teaching experience and a QTS qualification.
Aspire Learning is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in Croydon, the school meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN).
As a SENCO assistant, you will primarily be assisting the SENCO in managing the day-to-day educational provision for the students who have a variety of SEND needs. You will be tasked with supporting the professional development of the staff team including the INSET provision. You will observe individual students on a daily basis while working with the school therapy team to deliver targeted interventions and support.
Your role will include a high degree of collaborative working alongside the existing SLT, teaching staff, and senior educational management team. - An understanding of SEMH education and how to support the additional needs associated with SEMH pupils.
