Great Howarth School, an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs, is expanding its senior leadership team. We are seeking an Assistant Headteacher who will work with the Headteacher to support, improve, and maintain the school’s high standards, ensuring safety and wellbeing for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Headteacher in the day‑to‑day running of the school, acting as a senior member of the senior leadership team.
- Strategically oversee the school’s resources to support the achievement of educational objectives and priorities effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Headteacher to clearly articulate, disseminate, and effectively implement the school’s vision among all stakeholders.
- Prioritise pupil achievement, safety and well‑being as the core focus of all school activities.
- Foster a culture of challenge and support, empowering every student to succeed and actively engage in their learning journey.
- Articulate and uphold high expectations by setting ambitious targets for the entire school community.
- Exemplify the school’s values consistently through daily work and actions.
Minimum Requirements
- QTS or QTLS qualification.
- Similar senior leadership team experience in an SEN environment.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of OFSTED and the SEN education sector and desired outcomes.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding and child‑protection qualifications/knowledge and practical experience.
