Due to continued growth and expansion, Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a peripatetic teacher to join our fantastic Alternative Learning Pathway team based in and around the Gloucester and Gloucestershire area. Horizon Alternative Learning Pathway (HALP) aims to support and engage young people for whom learning in a school environment is not appropriate. We deliver short to medium term, personalised learning programmes nationally – a combination of direct home tutoring, mentoring and online learning for pupils from ages 8‑25.
Responsibilities
- Conduct 1‑to‑1 teaching sessions in the community for students who have struggled in a school environment.
- Attend meetings and training at the school, and support or cover lessons in school if required.
- Build and maintain excellent educational relationships with the students.
- Drive to and from student homes – a car owner/driver is required.
Minimum Requirements
- QTS or QTLS qualification
- Proven teaching and learning experience
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection qualifications, knowledge and experience
- The ideal candidate should have the energy, passion and drive to create exciting and engaging lessons for our students
- Initiative, vision, excellent planning and organisational skills
- Experience and passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH in a 1‑to‑1 or small‑group setting
