We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our expanding Therapeutic Team in the West Midlands, covering schools in Stoke, Tipton and Wolverhampton. The job role will involve working across 3 school sites with KS3 and KS4 children in a specialist SEN/SEMH environment, working Full Time during Term Time only (38 weeks per year).

Who are we? Horizon Care & Education are looking for a creative Speech and Language Therapist to join our passionate team, delivering a comprehensive therapeutic service for children in our care. This role involves providing support and oversight to teams in education. Delivery of training is an important aspect of the role. At Horizon, we train all our staff in our Shine Therapeutic model which includes DDP/PACE therapeutic parenting.
What you’ll get to do:
- Manage your own caseload of schools to provide high levels of support and consultation for operational colleagues.
- Provide therapeutic advice and guidance to teams to enable them to support young people throughout their journey with Horizon.
- Be responsible for assessments, goal setting and recommendations for therapeutic support for your own caseload.
- Develop, write and regularly review/update therapeutic goals for children and young people in education.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to all staff in the organisation as part of the Therapeutic Academy.
- Benefit from regular supervision and CPD activities.
- Participate in service development activities across the Horizon Group.
What we’re looking for from you:
- HCPC registered.
- BSc registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience of working with Children and Young People or relevant demonstrable transferable skills.
- A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to work autonomously with the support from individual and peer supervision.
- Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values.
- A sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
- Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle.
