Horizon Care & Education are looking for a creative Speech and Language Therapist to join our passionate team, delivering a comprehensive therapeutic service for children in our care.
You will be working across the 5 schools for children with SEN/SEMH in the Croydon and Sutton areas, CR0, CR2 and SM4.
You will conduct assessment and intervention, provide support to teams and be an active part of the wider MDT.
Delivery of training is an important aspect of the role. At Horizon we train all our staff in our Shine Therapeutic model which includes DDP/PACE therapeutic parenting.
This is an exciting opportunity to further develop and use your therapeutic knowledge and experience to support colleagues across the Group deliver positive outcomes for young people in our independent schools. We will accept nearly Qualified applications.
What you’ll get to do:
- Manage your own caseload of schools to provide high levels of support and consultation for operational colleagues
- Provide therapeutic advice and guidance to teams to enable them to support young people throughout their journey with Horizon
- Be responsible for assessments, goal setting and recommendations for therapeutic support for your own caseload.
- Develop, write and regularly review/update therapeutic goals for children and young people in education.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to all staff in the organisation as part of the Therapeutic Academy.

What we’re looking for from you:
- HCPC registered.
- BSc registered Speech and Language Therapist
- Experience of working with Children and Young People or relevant demonstrable transferable skills
- We will accept nearly Qualified applications
- A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Ability to work autonomously with the support from individual and peer supervision
- Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values
- A sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams and SharePoint
- Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle
