We are looking for an inspirational SENCO at our Aspire Primary School based in Croydon.

Aspire Learning is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in Croydon, the school meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN).

At Horizon Care and Education, our SENCOs are supported by Headteachers, Operational Directors and the Managing Director of Education Services. This structure of support allows Senior Leadership Teams to focus on and deliver the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

To be our SENCO, you’ll be a multi-talented professional, you’ll have great leadership and communication skills; endless enthusiasm, resilience and vision, and a commitment to both the education and the achievement of each young person.

The successful applicants will need:

  • Must hold a SENCO Qualification or be close to completing
  • Must have a QTS status
  • Make a valuable contribution to the offering that young people receive at the school as part of the provision of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Have some experience of working effectively with local authorities.
  • Have a passion for ensuring all young people succeed.
  • Be able to work effectively within a supportive, committed, and successful staff team.
  • Have high aspirations for themselves and others, and a commitment to further development.
  • Have a robust understanding of SEND Code of practice
  • An understanding of SEMH education and how to support the additional needs associated with SEMH pupils.
