Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for an SEN Secondary Teacher to join Great Howarth School in Rochdale. Role will involve teaching Secondary subjects to children with various SEN needs.

Great Howarth is in the process of expansion! The school is growing in size and capacity so we are recruiting for a new Secondary Teacher to join the existing team and assist us to continue the amazing provision at Great Howarth. Great Howarth School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in Rochdale, the school meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs including: Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ADHD and Autism.

At Great Howarth, we provide a holistic, bespoke curriculum with rich learning opportunities that enable young people to develop their functional life skills in order to experience a high quality of life.

Minimum requirements:

  • QTS or QTLS Qualification
  • Have proven teaching and learning experience
  • Have up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • Have the energy, passion, and drive to raise standards.
  • Have initiative, vision, excellent planning, and organisational skills.
  • Have experience of working with students with SEMH and additional needs.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of developments in education.
