Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher for our Wickham Park school based in West Wickham, Croydon, working with children aged 5-19 with SEN and SEMH needs. The successful candidate will focus on behaviour and attitudes within the school, as well as additional focus on attendance and personal development of students in an SEN setting. Ideally, we would like you to be primary focused but will consider secondary based experience.
Wickham Park School is a brand-new, independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in West Wickham, South East London, the school meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 5-19 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As an Assistant Headteacher, you will aim to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes for the pupils as a member of the senior management team. You will be responsible for the implementation of effective policies and procedures that support the high standards of education. You will assist the Headteacher in the day-to-day running of the school.
Minimum requirements:
- QTS or QTLS Qualification
- Similar SLT experience in an SEN environment
- Up to date OFSTED knowledge of the SEN education sector and desired outcomes
- Up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience
The ideal candidate should:
- Strategically oversee the school’s resources to support the achievement of educational objectives and priorities effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Headteacher to clearly articulate, disseminate, ensure understanding of, and effectively implement the school’s vision among all stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of challenge and support to empower every student to succeed and actively engage in their learning journey.
- Articulate and uphold high expectations by setting ambitious targets for the entire school community.
- Exemplify the school’s values consistently through daily work and actions.
