Due to continued growth and expansion, Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for an SEN Learning Mentor to join our fantastic Alternative Learning Pathway team in Draycott Moor School - Stoke. Horizon Alternative Learning Pathway (HALP) aims to support and engage young people for whom learning in a school environment is not appropriate. We deliver short to medium term, personalised learning programmes nationally - a combination of direct home tutoring, mentoring, and online learning for pupils from ages 8-25.
You will be based at Draycott Moor School and will form part of the team at this school. As a peripatetic practitioner, you will visit children to deliver 1-1 education in the community. You will be expected to attend meetings and training at the school and may be asked to cover lessons/support in school if needed. You will be working in a variety of non-school settings where you will be building and maintaining excellent educational relationships with the students. Your focus will be the individual learning needs of the student who has struggled in a school environment. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be a car owner/driver.

Minimum requirements:- Have up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience.
- Have 1 yearβs experience working with SEN/SEMH children in a 1-1 setting, based in the community or home.
- Be a car driver with own vehicle.
- Have the energy, passion, and drive to create exciting and engaging lessons for our students.
- Have initiative, vision, excellent planning, and organisational skills.
- Ideally have experience and a passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH in a 1-1 or small group setting.
