Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher for our Wickham Park school based in West Wickham, Croydon, working with children aged 5-19 with SEN and SEMH needs. The successful candidate will focus on Teaching and Learning within the school and SEN setting. Ideally, we would like you to be Secondary focused but will consider Primary based experience.
Wickham Park School is a brand-new, independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. The school meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 5-19 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As an Assistant Headteacher, you will aim to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes for the pupils as a member of the senior management team. You will be responsible for the implementation of effective policies and procedures that support high educational standards and assist the Headteacher in the day-to-day running of the school.
Minimum requirements:
- QTS or QTLS Qualification
- Similar SLT experience in an SEN environment
- Up to date OFSTED knowledge of the SEN education sector and desired outcomes
- Up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience
The ideal candidate should:
- Strategically oversee the school's resources to support the achievement of educational objectives and priorities effectively and efficiently
- Collaborate with the headteacher to clearly articulate, disseminate, ensure understanding of, and effectively implement the school's vision among all stakeholders
- Foster a culture of challenge and support to empower every student to succeed and actively engage in their learning journey
- Articulate and uphold high expectations by setting ambitious targets for the entire school community
