We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our expanding Therapeutic Team covering schools in Deal, Kent. The role is part time, 2 days per week, term time only, and will involve working across 2 school sites with KS1‑KS4 children in a specialist SEN/SEMH environment. Horizon Care & Education are looking for a creative Speech and Language Therapist to join our passionate team, delivering a comprehensive therapeutic service for children in our care. This role involves providing support and oversight to teams in education. Delivery of training is an important aspect of the role. At Horizon we train all our staff in our Shine Therapeutic model which includes DDP/PACE therapeutic parenting.
Key Responsibilities- Manage your own caseload of schools to provide high levels of support and consultation for operational colleagues.
- Provide therapeutic advice and guidance to teams to enable them to support young people throughout their journey with Horizon.
- Be responsible for assessments, goal setting and recommendations for therapeutic support for your own caseload.
- Develop, write and regularly review/update therapeutic goals for children and young people in education.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to all staff in the organisation as part of the Therapeutic Academy.
- HCPC registered BSc registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience of working with children and young people or relevant demonstrable transferable skills.
- A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work autonomously with support from individual and peer supervision.
- Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values.
- Sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
- Full UK driving licence and vehicle.
