This role is based at Horizon Academy, a SEMH specialist school for ages 7 to 16. We work hard to create an inclusive environment with strong relationships and high aspirations.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of engaging Science lessons, targeted interventions and literacy programmes for pupils from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE and Functional Skills, adapting learning inline with EHCPs to meet a wide range of needs.
- Play a key role in improving pupil attainment, engagement and confidence in Science, helping young people develop the literacy skills they need to succeed both academically and in their future lives. This may include working with pupils as part of the tutoring programme for those not attending school.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, therapists, senior leaders and families to provide a joined‑up approach to supporting pupils.
- You will help implement effective strategies, monitor progress and contribute to the continuous development of high‑quality teaching and learning across the school.
