As an Outstanding‑rated organisation (CQC), Horder Healthcare is seeking a motivated and empathetic Healthcare Assistant to join our Theatre team at The Horder Centre. Working as part of a highly skilled, close‑knit team, you will play a key role in supporting patients before, during and after their procedures—helping to create a safe, reassuring and caring environment. No two days are the same in theatres, making this an exciting opportunity for someone committed to delivering exceptional patient care and developing their clinical skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting patients with dignity, compassion and respect throughout their peri‑operative pathway.
  • Assisting with preparation, transfers and safe patient handling within theatres.
  • Taking part in routine clinical tasks such as basic observations, documentation, and equipment preparation.
  • Supporting the theatre team during procedures in a circulating role.
  • Ensuring high standards of infection prevention and control.
  • Escorting patients and assisting with administrative duties as required.
  • Reporting changes in patient condition to Registered Nurses or ODPs.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to safe, effective teamwork.

About you

  • Compassionate, patient‑focused and committed to delivering excellent care.
  • Approachable, professional and able to build strong relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Confident communicating within a clinical environment.
  • Prior UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant (hospital or clinical setting preferred).
  • Proactive, eager to learn and committed to ongoing development.
  • Care Certificate and/or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable).

Salary

From £25,155.00 to £25,837.50 per annum (dependant on experience and relevant qualifications).
