Are you a caring and compassionate Healthcare Assistant who takes pride in delivering excellent patient care? Join Horder Healthcare and play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their outpatient journey at The McIndoe Centre. As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll work closely with the Outpatients team and the wider multidisciplinary clinical members to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence‑based care. You'll support patients with dignity and kindness while helping to ensure services run smoothly and efficiently. Everyday will be varied, meaningful and patient‑focused, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys teamwork, communication and hands‑on care.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing compassionate, safe and professional care to patients
  • Supporting clinical staff with the delivery and evaluation of patient care plans
  • Carrying out basic nursing procedures under appropriate supervision
  • Undertaking and recording clinical observations accurately
  • Maintaining clear, timely and confidential patient documentation
  • Communicating effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive outpatient team environment
  • Following all policies relating to health and safety, infection control and governance
  • Reporting incidents, accidents and near misses appropriately

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
  • Competence in delivering basic clinical care and observations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Healthcare Assistant qualification (NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3)
  • Care Certificate
  • Experience taking patient medical histories
  • Dental and/or Ophthalmic experience
