At Horder Healthcare, we're looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Advisor to join our Clinical Governance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting safety, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement across our organisation, including our independent hospital services.



What You'll Be Doing


As our Health & Safety Advisor, you'll be the organisation's subject matter expert on health and safety matters, helping to create a positive safety culture across all sites.



  • Providing professional health and safety advice and guidance across the organisation.

  • Ensuring compliance with current and emerging Health & Safety legislation and best practice.

  • Developing, reviewing and implementing Health & Safety policies and procedures.

  • Supporting and leading risk assessments across a variety of operational areas.

  • Conducting safety inspections, audits and workplace reviews, ensuring actions are implemented and monitored.

  • Investigating incidents, supporting action planning and analysing safety trends.

  • Producing reports, safety statistics and performance updates for committees and senior leaders.

  • Acting as the key point of contact for external regulators and agencies, including HSE reporting and inspections.

  • Delivering and supporting Health & Safety training programmes.

  • Working collaboratively with facilities, contractors and project teams to ensure safety is embedded in all activities and developments.

  • Facilitating Health & Safety meetings and helping drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organisation.

You'll be a confident communicator who can build strong working relationships, influence positive change and provide practical, solution-focused advice.



  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (minimum).

  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety Management, or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of five years' relevant Health & Safety experience if working towards qualification.

  • Experience working with external regulatory bodies such as the HSE and Environment Agency.

  • Experience working alongside contractors and third-party providers.

  • Strong knowledge of risk assessments, safety inspections and audit processes.

  • Experience developing and delivering Health & Safety training.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel between Horder Healthcare sites.

  • Strong IT and database skills.

  • Membership of a professional body such as IOSH (Tech IOSH or Grad IOSH).

  • NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification.

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management.

  • Experience within healthcare, hospital or clinical environments.

  • Knowledge of CQC requirements relating to Health & Safety.

  • Training instructor qualification and/or experience.
