We’re looking for a dynamic and motivated Deputy Theatre Manager to help support and lead our Theatre team at The Horder Centre; supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-focused care in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The Role

  • As Deputy Theatre Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operational leadership of our theatre department, deputising for the Theatre Manager and ensuring exceptional standards are maintained at all times.
  • Supporting the operational management of theatres to ensure safe, efficient service delivery.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintaining high standards of clinical care, governance, and patient safety.
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC and national standards (e.g. NICE, NatSSIPs).
  • Managing resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, and budgets.
  • Monitoring performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as a visible leader, fostering a positive and high‑performing team culture.

Leadership & Impact

  • You’ll be instrumental in shaping a supportive and accountable team environment, including:
  • Coaching and developing team members through appraisals and ongoing support.
  • Managing performance, wellbeing, and attendance.
  • Supporting training, induction, and continuous professional development.

About You

  • We’re looking for a confident clinical leader who thrives in a fast‑paced theatre environment.
  • Essential
  • RGN or ODP (Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong clinical background within theatre settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support teams.

Location: The Horder Centre, Crowborough

Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent (37.5 hours – 4 days per week 8am to 6pm)

Base Salary: up to £53,800.50 per annum

Right to work in the UK. In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencing employment. This role does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, and we will not be accepting any visa sponsorships for this role. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK independently, without sponsorship from Horder Healthcare.
