Job Description:

Are you proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving business growth? We\'re looking for a Business Development Assistant to play a key role in generating new opportunities and supporting our sales and bid functions during an exciting time of growth and change.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you’ll be an essential part of our sales team – combining research, coordination, and client engagement to help fuel our pipeline and win work.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation – Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities through platforms such as Glenigan, planning portals, social media, the local press, and client pipeline analysis.

Bid & Proposal Support – Maximise the efficiency of the sales team by coordinating and preparing documents for bid submissions, proposals, and enquiry responses.

Client Engagement – Act as a first point of contact for inbound sales enquiries. Conduct initial qualification, arrange meetings, and gather feedback to help nurture relationships and improve conversion rates.

Sales Reporting & Insight – Assist the Business Development Manager with preparing performance reports, market insights, business activity updates, and monthly pipeline tracking.

CRM & Data Management – Use CRM tools to log and analyse sales activity, identify trends, and uncover new revenue opportunities.

Sales Enablement – Ensure supply chain certifications, accreditations, and key procurement documentation are always up to date across industry platforms and portals.

What We\'re Looking For:

Previous experience in the construction or built environment sector (desirable but not essential).

Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.

Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

Comfortable producing accurate reports and analysing sales or business data.

Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, or networking events.

Positive, can-do attitude with the flexibility to adapt within a growing and evolving team.

Highly task-focused, dependable, and driven to deliver consistent results.

A degree (any discipline) and a full UK driving licence are desirable.
