We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Student Experience Officer to join our expanding team and make a lasting impact on our students' journey.
As a Student Experience Officer, you will play a crucial role in enriching the lives of our students. Your primary focus will be to engage with learners, fostering an environment of enrichment and enjoyment. You will have the opportunity to design and implement a variety of activities and programs that enhance student life and contribute to a positive college experience.
Key Responsibilities
- The Student Experience Officer – Enrichment (SEO) is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the holistic student experience within the college.
- They will work closely with various curriculum areas and external student organizations to develop initiatives that promote student enhancement.
- They will act as an advocate for students, addressing their concerns, providing guidance, and advocating for necessary changes to improve the overall student experience.
- They will develop and implement the College’s Student Experience Strategy including the calendar of events.
- The post holder will maintain a highly visible presence across all the curriculum areas, at both campuses, encouraging, supporting and leading by example to inspire a sense of responsibility and community in our learners.
Student Experience Activities
- To work with the Student Experience Manager to develop, coordinate and supervise a calendar of events cross college to raise aspirations and enhance the student experience of learners.
- Provide a range of activities throughout the learner journey from enrolment through to supporting progression, including 1:1, group work, workshops, and events planned through a central calendar of events.
- To collaboratively develop, co-ordinate and support a programme of cross college student experience activities to support the development of interpersonal skills for learners.
- Regularly review the impact of all activities to ensure they are supporting with the embedding of Gatsby Benchmarks.
- Work with the Curriculum Managers and the Personal Development Tutors, to monitor and regularly review take up of extra curricula activities that develop learners' skills and abilities.
- Identify barriers to participation, support needs, safeguarding and welfare concerns and work with Safeguarding and Welfare team to provide support.
- To assist with general learner activities including open evenings and enrolments, support wider college teams as and when required.
- Undertake training and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) required for the role.

Qualifications
- Essential Criteria
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience (A level or equivalent)
- GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
- Level 2 IT qualification or prepared to work towards
- Level 3 Preparing to Teach qualification
Experience
- Essential Criteria
- Previous work with young people or adults
- Able to interact positively with young people and adults
- Ability to use IT to a high level of competence
- Ability to communicate, negotiate and work effectively with internal and external partners
- Ability to think creatively and be innovative in introducing new concepts, themes and fundraising activities for learners
- Ability to keep and evaluate records and statistical data
- Ability to work towards targets and across college including both campuses
- A good team worker and leader with ability to enthuse and motivate to encourage participation in events and ideas
- Ability to work unsupervised and manage own time and priorities; be well organized and self-motivated
- To have flexibility and willing to try out new ideas
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of coordinating Duke of Edinburgh awards and volunteering opportunities
- Experience and understanding of the Further Education sector
- Experience of working with mixed ages, cultures and abilities
- Experience of overseeing/monitoring a budget and building costings for events

- Ability to use college systems to generate information and improve efficiency
