As part of the Training at Hopwood department, you will lead the Work Based Tutors (WBT) team, working closely with the Apprenticeship Data and Compliance Manager, Apprenticeship Quality Practitioner and Director of Apprenticeships. Your role focuses on delivering high quality apprenticeship standards, driving curriculum innovation, ensuring performance management, compliance with ESFA and OFSTED, and improving the overall support for apprentices and employers. The goal is to help the college achieve outstanding service, growth in recruitment and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Work Based Tutors to deliver apprenticeship standards efficiently.
- Lead and support curriculum innovation to meet learners and employer needs.
- Promote excellence in curriculum, management development, and innovation.
- Support the Apprenticeship Director with performance management, monthly reviews and annual appraisals.
- Motivate and support teams to contribute to programme development.
- Coordinate internal and external verification processes with awarding bodies, external verifiers and the exams team.
- Ensure OFSTED requirements are met through the Apprenticeship Quality Practitioner.
- Maintain compliance with ESFA through the Data and Compliance Manager.
- Implement quality assurance processes across programme teams.
- Assist the Director of Apprenticeships in producing a robust self‑assessment report.
- Lead the team to prepare for internal and external inspections.
- Coordinate audits (OneFile and Maytas) and peer observations.
- Ensure timely coordination of End Point Assessments for apprenticeships.
- Collaborate with marketing and partners to raise the profile of the provision.
- Support the development of commercial and virtual courses and apprenticeships.
- Provide timely data and projected achievements for the Apprenticeship Operational Group meetings.
- Participate actively in the College Wider Management Group.
- Continuously develop professional knowledge.
- Carry out other duties of a similar level of responsibility as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications
- Essential Criteria: Level 3 qualification in a related apprenticeship area.
- Desirable Criteria: Degree or relevant professional qualification; strong IT skills; Level 4 internal quality assurance.
Experience
- Essential Criteria: Recent apprenticeship delivery experience; academic, industrial or commercial experience in one of the standards; experience with OneFile/Maytas; IT skills for managing databases; teamwork with apprenticeship and curriculum teams; exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to multi‑task and work under pressure.
- Desirable Criteria: Management experience with quality, staff and apprenticeship delivery.
Specialist Knowledge
- Essential Criteria: Knowledge of apprenticeship funding rules; understanding of End Point Assessment Organisations (EPAOs).
