Our nursery is a vibrant and nurturing setting in Shirley on Regents Park Road committed to providing outstanding care and education for children. We’re looking for a warm, organised, and proactive Nursery Administrator to support our Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering exceptional service to families and staff.
Your Role
As our Administrator, you’ll be the welcoming face of the nursery, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and supporting both administrative and childcare functions. You’ll work closely with our Head Office Admin and Finance Team and play a key role in maintaining a professional and friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and children
- Stay informed on sector developments and safeguarding policies
- Support nursery operations when required to maintain ratios
- Support the registration of new children and maintain accurate records
- Answer calls and manage messages professionally
- Perform general admin tasks using Word, Excel, Outlook, and nursery software (Famly)
- Manage filing systems, photocopying, and supply orders
- Assist with fee collection and invoice tracking
- Welcome visitors and uphold site-specific policies
- Maintain contact records and support diary/event management
Essential Skills & Qualities
- Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing role
- Natural affinity with children and a caring nature
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure
- Energetic and eager to learn
- Computer literate in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable Experience
- Previous work in childcare settings (nursery, school, after‑school club)
- Familiarity with OFSTED, EYFS, and safeguarding policies
- Understanding of the EYE Funding
Hours: 21-25 hours a week, 3-5 days a week (these hours can be discussed to suit the nursery and the candidate), 52 weeks a year
Salary: £14,578.20 - £17,355.00
