As a Trainee Payroll Administrator, you’ll join our friendly and supportive Payroll team, gaining hands‑on experience while receiving training and development to help you grow professionally.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has a keen eye for detail and is looking to build a long-term career in payroll.
You’ll learn all aspects of payroll administration, working with a diverse range of clients and becoming an integral part of a busy, client‑focused team.
What you’ll be doing
As part of your training, you’ll gain experience in
- Assisting with and eventually managing client payrolls from start to finish.
- Processing payroll information accurately and within deadlines.
- Preparing and submitting payroll information to HMRC.
- Running payroll reports and carrying out accuracy checks.
- Supporting client communications and responding to routine payroll queries.
- Processing BACS payments and year‑end payroll requirements, including P60s.
- Building strong relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with GDPR and payroll legislation.
- What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a motivated individual who
- Has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working accurately.
- Has a positive, willing‑to‑learn attitude.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Communicates professionally and builds positive working relationships.
- Can work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Has achieved at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English. A Levels or equivalent qualifications would be advantageous. [uk. indeed. com]
