Join Hopestrand as a Support Engineer and help our clients keep their technology working reliably. You’ll be part of a small, friendly team supporting businesses with day-to-day IT issues, Microsoft 365, devices, networks and cloud services.
Remote working · 7.5 hours per day · Shifts within 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm
The role
Working alongside our technical team, you’ll troubleshoot client issues, configure equipment and carry out routine maintenance. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of problems, explains solutions clearly and keeps clients informed from the first enquiry through to resolution.
What you’ll do
- Respond to support requests by phone, email and ticket, prioritising work and keeping accurate notes.
- Troubleshoot Windows PCs, laptops, Apple Macs, printers and mobile devices.
- Support Microsoft 365, business email, user accounts and shared files.
- Help maintain Windows Server, Active Directory and virtual environments.
- Assist with network, Wi‑Fi, firewall and router troubleshooting.
- Follow security procedures and handle client information confidentially.
What you’ll bring
- Practical experience providing IT support for small or medium-sized businesses.
- Good knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and common hardware issues.
- A logical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with a patient, helpful approach to clients.
- Experience with Apple devices, networking, Windows Server, Hyper-V or VMware is useful.
