We are recruiting for a Refrigeration Engineer with a working history in PPM and reactive maintenance. The role is a permanent position working on a mobile basis across the east central belt of Scotland. The core of the refrigeration work will be maintenance – PPM and reactive – of fridges, freezers and cooling units across food and retail estates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance, inspection and repair services to chillers, fridges, freezers and cooling systems.
  • Complete PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Complete small works, installation and refurbishment of cooling equipment.
  • Maintain and manage records for all AC‑R kit on the facility and provide a monitoring service for the critical maintenance schedules including F‑Gas records.
  • Diagnose faults and perform leak repair.
  • Liaise with electrical building services and BMS teams, providing overlap where required.
  • Provide site‑wide refrigeration engineering advice based on current theory and knowledge.
  • Assist with general ad‑hoc maintenance tasks where required.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Experience of commercial refrigeration.
  • Building services knowledge and general HVAC‑R.
  • Highly articulate and presentable with excellent customer‑facing skills.
  • Knowledge in chiller/refrigeration.
  • IT literate with good record/data keeping skills.
  • Qualified AC‑R engineer – C&G/NVQ.
  • F‑Gas 2079 safe handling of refrigerants.
  • Valid driving licence.
