Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join our team based in Oswestry. You will join us on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £26,695 - £31,247 per annum.
About the Maintenance Officer role
In this role, you will help us deliver our purpose by ensuring that our buildings and grounds are safe, well maintained and welcoming for our children, families, staff, volunteers and supporters. You will work positively as part of a small, supportive Facilities team, carrying out a variety of tasks to support the effective management of our buildings. This includes ensuring repairs, maintenance and mandatory testing are completed safely, effectively and within agreed timescales. You will use your practical skills and problem‑solving ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues. Experience in areas such as electrical and plumbing installations is helpful, and we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds who are eager to learn and develop their skills. You will also contribute to record keeping and compliance processes, so basic IT skills will be important.
We are looking for a Maintenance Officer who:
- Has a range of practical building or maintenance skills (or relevant transferable experience).
- Can manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
- Holds a valid full driving licence.
- Is flexible in their approach to working hours.
- Is reliable and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
- Can meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting and carrying equipment (up to 22kg).
