Hope Dusek Architects is hiring a project architect to join its team in London. We are seeking an ambitious project architect to join our growing studio and play a key role in shaping the growth of the practice. This is a rare opportunity for a recently qualified architect who is ready to take the next step in their career.
We are looking for someone who wants genuine responsibility, direct exposure to practice leadership, and a clear pathway towards senior leadership within a growing architectural business. Unlike many larger practices where progression can be slow and opportunities limited, we offer a structured route for professional development, increasing responsibility and promotion based on performance. For the right individual, this role has the potential to develop into a long‑term position with a pathway towards Associate and ultimately Director‑level responsibilities.
The opportunity
You will initially lead the delivery of a significant historic retrofit and redevelopment project involving a listed office building that will become the future headquarters of an established construction company. Alongside this flagship project, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of commissions across multiple sectors, allowing you to develop broad experience across all RIBA stages and build the skills required to manage projects from concept through to completion. This role offers a level of autonomy rarely available at this stage of an architect’s career. You will be trusted to take ownership of projects, make decisions, manage client relationships and coordinate consultants while receiving direct support and mentoring from the company directors.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and coordinating the technical delivery of complex architectural projects
- Managing projects through multiple RIBA work stages, from early design through to construction and completion
- Producing and coordinating Stage 4 technical information
- Managing planning conditions and statutory approvals
- Coordinating consultants and wider project teams
- Attending client meetings, site visits and design workshops
- Developing client relationships and contributing to project strategy
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the practice
What makes this role different
- Career progression with clear direction
- Exposure to the full project lifecycle
- Direct access to leadership
- Real responsibility
- Flexible working
About you
We are looking for an architect who is:
- ARB registered and RIBA qualified
- Typically two to five years’ post‑Part 3 qualification, although exceptional candidates at other levels will be considered
- Confident producing technical and construction‑stage information
- Ambitious and motivated to progress into senior leadership roles over time
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects and client relationships
- Organized, proactive and self‑motivated
- Interested in developing broad experience across all project stages
- Experienced in retrofit, refurbishment or heritage projects (desirable)
- Familiar with Vectorworks or willing to learn (desirable)
