PRODUCT SPECIALIST - B2B DATA & RESEARCH

THAMES VALLEY - 3 DAYS OFFICE / 2 DAYS FROM HOME - PERMANENT - A NEW CUSTOMER-FACING ROLE AT THE HEART OF AN AI PRODUCT ROLLOUT

Are you a pre-sales, customer success or product person who loves showing senior people what a product can really do? Do you already use AI tools every day, and want a role built around putting that in front of chief executives?

Hop To Talent are hiring a Product Specialist for a growing B2B data and intelligence business serving the UK technology market. Its subscribers are tech companies and the investors and advisers who work with them. This is a newly created role, set up because the business is bringing AI into how customers access its data, with further product releases planned over the next two years.

You’ll be the person who makes that product land with customers. That means demoing it to prospects alongside the sales team, moving existing subscribers onto the new platform, and working with customers who aren’t yet getting the value they signed up for. Day-to-day account admin and renewals sit with a separate customer success team, so your time goes on the conversations about use cases and return on investment. Much of that is with chief executives, who can be friendly one minute and challenging the next, so you’ll need the confidence to think on your feet in a demo.

Curiosity matters more than background here. The right person is genuinely interested in how UK tech businesses grow and make money, and already uses AI in their own work rather than waiting to be trained on it. Some finance knowledge helps because the data has a strong financial angle, but a feel for the tech market matters more and the finance side can be taught.

WISH LIST

  • Two to five years in pre-sales, solutions consulting, customer success or an analyst role, ideally at a data or research provider or inside a software, IT services or telecoms business
  • AI native - you use Claude, ChatGPT or similar in your everyday work, and you may well have built an agent or automated something yourself
  • Curious about how tech companies perform, with the personality to hold your own with a chief executive and not be rattled when one pushes back

THE ROLE

  • Run tailored product demos for prospective subscribers, often at chief executive level, as the product expert alongside the sales team
  • Represent the business at client events, talking to potential customers about their business and showing how the platform could help
  • Manage customer trials
  • Plan and deliver the move of existing subscribers onto the new platform, including demos and training
  • Lead onboarding so new subscribers understand the use cases from day one
  • Act as first-line product support, triaging technical issues with the development team
  • Step in when usage data shows a subscriber isn’t engaging, find out what they wanted from the platform and help them get it
  • Explain features such as API and AI integrations in plain English to senior, non-technical users
  • Analyse platform usage to understand which use cases customers rely on and how they use the content
  • Feed customer insight into the product roadmap and into how the core content develops
  • Help produce outbound material promoting new features and the roadmap
  • Build demo materials, onboarding playbooks and FAQs so pre-sales and onboarding can scale

YOUR PROFILE

  • Degree educated, or equivalent experience
  • Confident everyday user of AI tools
  • A working understanding of the UK software, IT services or telecoms market - finance knowledge (revenue, EBITDA, ARR) advantageous, not essential
  • Experience with B2B SaaS, data or subscription platforms preferred

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • 10% bonus
  • 3 days in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), 2 days from home, with the odd Wednesday or Friday in when needed
  • Town-centre office close to the train station, with parking
  • 25 days holiday, plus an extra day for each year of service from year 3, up to 30
  • Private healthcare (family can be added) and life cover
  • Annual company trip, weekly breakfast, monthly team lunch and regular socials
