Overview
Three Counties Academy Trust (TCAT) includes the Queen Elizabeth High School, St Peter’s Primary School, Bredenbury Primary School, Stoke Prior Primary School and Lugwardine Primary Academy.
TCAT is looking to appoint an organised and proactive governance professional to provide high-quality clerical, secretarial and administrative support to the Board of Trustees and its committees. Working together with our Chair of Trustees, the governance professional will be responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance within the Trust, ensuring governance adheres to good practice and meets all statutory and regulatory requirements. This includes providing legislative and procedural guidance, drafting agendas, and keeping records of membership, training and attendance across the Trust’s governance structure.
Please note that termly governance meetings are scheduled outside of school/office working hours to accommodate our governance volunteers. Working hours will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clerical, secretarial and administrative support to the Board of Trustees and its committees.
- Co‑ordinate all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance within the Trust.
- Ensure governance adheres to good practice and meets statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide legislative and procedural guidance.
- Draft agendas for governance meetings.
- Maintain records of membership, training and attendance across the Trust’s governance structure.
Qualifications
- Governance professional qualification or working towards one.
- Good general communication skills.
- Excellent, accurate, and concise writing skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Good organisational skills‑ able to prioritise workload.
- Excellent record‑keeping, information retrieval and dissemination of governing body data/documentation.
- Tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Ability to use appropriate IT equipment as required by the governing body.
- Experience of setting up virtual meetings via MS Teams.
- Ability to speak with confidence and accuracy, using accurate sentence structures and vocabulary.
