We are looking to recruit a Planning Enforcement Officer on a part‑time (22.2 hours per week) 6‑month fixed‑term contract to join our Enforcement Team within the Development Management Planning Service. You will work closely with the Enforcement team, Development Management Officers, and other council services such as Built Environment, Natural Environment, Highways, and Legal advisors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Investigating alleged breaches of planning control.
  • Undertaking site inspections and carrying out associated administrative tasks.
  • Conducting consultations and negotiations with interested parties, councillors, colleagues, and residents.
  • Making clear decisions and communicating outcomes.

Location and working flexibility: The role is based at the council’s modern offices at Plough Lane in Hereford, but there is the opportunity to work flexibly from home and flexible working hours.

Other requirements: Current full driving licence; pool cars are available for use. No sponsorship for employment in the UK.
