Our Children in Care service is made up of three teams. Each team comprises a Team Manager, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Family Support Workers. We are proud of our restorative approach to social work, which is firmly embedded in our team culture and management style. Collaboration and reflection are at the heart of how we practice: senior managers are always available for guidance and support, especially when navigating complex cases.
The role involves leading our Children and Young People in Care teams, bringing your knowledge and experience to make a difference. You will work closely with colleagues from multiple professions to ensure that the voice of the child is always heard. This is an exciting opportunity to have a genuine impact on the local authority and help improve and protect the children and young people within it.
Teams typically consist of one senior practitioner and five social workers focusing on progressing children's care plans to achieve permanency and support looked after children to reach their potential. You will be fully qualified (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent), with significant post-qualification social work experience and a recognised social work qualification, plus evidence of CPD and HCPC registration. Your proven record of effective service delivery will include managing staff and budgets while implementing service and quality improvement methods successfully in pursuit of challenging performance expectations.
