The Role

Herefordshire Educational Psychology Service (HEPS) has an exciting opportunity for aspiring Educational Psychologists. As an AEP you will support the Service in applying psychology to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEN and additional educational needs.

What will you be doing?

  • Contribute positively and in a complementary way to service delivery, working under the supervision of an EP.
  • Support the provision of statutory and early‑intervention educational psychology services to a local area/ in schools across Herefordshire.
  • Develop and apply knowledge and skills in assessment, monitoring and tracking progress of children and young people with SEN.
  • Provide advice and interventions in schools and other settings as directed by the supervising EP.
  • Contribute to service development and training for schools.

About You

  • A good honours degree in psychology along with current knowledge of psychological theory and practice including up to date understanding of child development and experience of how psychology can be applied within educational or community settings.
  • Recent and relevant work experience in the field of child development/education/related to special educational needs.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills along with knowledge of the context in which psychological services, schools and settings work.
  • Confident working remotely and autonomously.
