This key role within the Economy and Regeneration Service ensures local education, training and skills provision meets the needs of local businesses and supports a skilled workforce now and in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate engagement with priority sectors, including cyber, advanced manufacturing, construction, agri‑tech, high growth and green growth.
- Support sector‑focused forums, liaise with business leaders, promote workforce planning initiatives and exploit sectoral opportunities for skills development.
- Facilitate and commission local skills and training programmes that meet identified gaps and employer needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Herefordshire Employment and Skills Strategy to guide skills provision and align funded programmes.
- Collaborate with the Inward Investment Manager to integrate skills support into the council’s inward investment offer and create bespoke workforce packages for new investors.
