Location: Hybrid working – Plough Lane Council offices / working from home / mobile working
Hours: 37 hours 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
Salary: HC7 £32,061 to £33,363

About the Role
This is a short term contract due to funding. We are looking for someone who already has significant experience in this type of role.
As part of a small team, you will have a key role in providing resettlement support for those who have come to Herefordshire through the Homes for Ukraine scheme as well as Afghan resettlement schemes.
You will be working across all the schemes, which includes refugees being housed in their own accommodation as well as those living with hosts. You will provide support to help refugees settle into their new home and community, which will include help with finances, accessing education and schools, health and well‑being services, either providing direct support or sign‑posting to others.
Your aim is to empower those you support so that they understand what it’s like living in the UK with the aim of independence and integration within the local community.
About You
We need someone who can hit the ground running with past experience in the role on offer. You will need to have
- experience of providing support to refugees or other vulnerable people on the ARAP / ACRS / ARP or UKRS schemes
- experience of working with others in a busy environment, coping under pressure and managing conflicting priorities to keep to agreed targets and timescales
- knowledge and understanding of the support that will be needed, including welfare benefits, housing, education and employment support
- an excellent understanding of the main barriers to successful integration and be able to work with others to overcome these barriers
- experience of maintaining accurate casework records and using spreadsheets and databases
- a good educational standard – NVQ level 3 or substantial relevant experience
- a full driving licence and access to a car for work as you will need to travel on a regular basis throughout Herefordshire
