The Role
Are you passionate about improving outcomes for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they move into adulthood? Do you have the expertise and confidence to influence practice across colleges, sixth forms and training providers?
Reporting to the School Improvement Adviser and supporting the Senior Adviser for Post‑16 Learning and Skills, you will:
- Lead the development of inclusive practice across post‑16 providers, including colleges, sixth forms and vocational settings
- Work strategically with senior leaders, SENCOs and teaching staff to embed evidence‑based approaches to inclusion, independence and preparation for adulthood
- Build capacity through training, coaching and high‑impact professional development
About You
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Post‑16 Inclusion Outreach Teacher to lead and champion inclusive practice across post‑16 education and training settings for learners aged 16–25. This is a strategic, outward‑facing role, working closely with providers, families and partners to ensure SEND learners thrive and are well‑prepared for adulthood.
You will be a skilled and credible professional who is confident working at a strategic level. You will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status or a Level 5 Certificate / PGCE (Further Education or Post‑16)
- Strong understanding of SEND, EHCPs, reasonable adjustments and the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience of designing and delivering training that leads to sustained change in practice
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage senior leaders and partners
