This is an HR role for people who want to be close to the business, not behind the scenes! As an HR Business Partner, you will work directly with managers across Hoople and its customer base, providing practical, credible and solutions-focused HR support. You will be visible, trusted, and involved in shaping how people issues are handled day to day, while developing your experience across both operational and strategic HR activity. This role sits at the heart of the organisation, supporting managers to deliver outcomes through their people.
The Role
- Working closely with the Head of People and the wider HR team, you will support the delivery of organisational objectives through effective people management, sound advice and timely intervention.
Your Work Will Include
- Building strong, trusted relationships with managers and stakeholders across the organisation
- Providing high-quality HR advice across the full employee lifecycle, including complex and non-complex casework
- Managing employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance, sickness absence and investigations, up to and including hearings and appeals
- Supporting and contributing to change management and organisational development activity
- Advising on employment law, terms and conditions, and the application of HR policies and procedures
- Supporting TUPE activity where required
- Contributing to the development, review and implementation of HR and OD policies and processes
- Designing and delivering HR training and support sessions
- Supporting recruitment and selection activity, including senior or complex appointments
- Undertaking job evaluation and providing advice on grading and role design
- Using workforce data and management information to support decision-making
- Contributing to HR projects, consultations, workshops and wider people initiatives
You will work with a good degree of autonomy while being supported by the Head of People and HR colleagues, you will be provided the opportunity to manage your own workload and adapt to our changing environments.
How The Role Works In Practice
This is a hybrid role, combining office-based working, home working and attendance at internal or customer sites as required. You will need to be flexible and willing to adjust your working pattern to meet business needs, including occasional out-of-hours working.
About You
You are an experienced HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers and getting involved in the detail, while also developing your broader HR capability.
You Will Bring
- Experience working within an HR advisory or business partnering environment
- Confidence handling sensitive and complex employee relations matters
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience developing or reviewing HR policies and processes
- The ability to influence, challenge and support managers constructively
- Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Experience working collaboratively with trade unions
- The ability to balance competing priorities
You will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and be CIPD Level 5 qualified, working towards CIPD Level 5, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience and ongoing professional development.
