The Kinship Fostering team are looking to recruit a Principal Social Worker. This is a non-case holding role within a developing and growing service area.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key part in strategic planning and service development
  • Maintain involvement in day-to-day practice matters
  • Lead on quality assurance of assessments from internal and external assessors
  • Drive quality and performance standards across the kinship service
  • Develop and deliver training briefings and sessions to improve service quality

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape practice and performance, while contributing to high standards of service delivery. You will support the Service Manager and wider team in delivering tailored support to kinship foster carers.

Looking for You

  • Ability to supervise staff and support professional development
  • Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies
  • Ability to improve quality of assessments and services for foster carers
  • Work closely with the Panel Advisor to ensure consistent approval processes
  • Strong understanding of practice standards and performance management

  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply
  • 3 years of referencing
  • Full driving licence with access to a car
