The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

A Qualified Social Worker is required to join the Leaving Care Team at Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council. This contract will initially run for a 3 month period but is likely to extend beyond this period. Pay rate for this role is subject to experience but can offer £38.43 per hour Umbrella in line with the ADSS pledge.

The Leaving Care Team are looking to achieve the best long‑term outcomes for the young people they work with. The team strives to support young people making their transition into adulthood an easier and more manageable experience.

As a Social Worker within the Leaving Care Team, you will be responsible for:

  • Working in partnership with young people, their carers, and other professionals including Personal Advisers to complete high quality assessments in order to develop pathway plans.
  • Assessing the needs of young people aged 16/17 who present as homeless to the department.
  • Contributing to service developments and occasionally taking the lead on arranging meaningful activities that will benefit young people.
  • Assisting other staff in developing and facilitating group work sessions when particular issues arise.

You will need to have a genuine interest in working with teenagers and be able to communicate with them regardless of their situations. In turn, you will become part of an established and experienced team, receiving regular supervision support and guidance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker.
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England.
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS.
  • 3 years of referencing.
  • Driving license with access to a car.
