A Locum Social Worker is required to join Ceredigion's Community Mental Health team for an initial 3-6 month contract. This is predominantly a hybrid role whereby you can work between home and their on-site offices. You will need to work at least 1 day on site per week based out of Aberystwyth. Ideally, you will be able to commit to a full-time contract of 37 hours per week. Applications are welcome from those wishing to work fewer hours also, but a minimum of 3 days on site is required.

If you are a creative, enthusiastic social worker with a sound value base, who has experience of working with people who experience co-occurring mental ill health and substance misuse, Hoop Social Work would love to hear from you. You will be required to work with a caseload of around 20 to 25 service users/carers. You will be expected to travel to Ceredigion and other counties when necessary to undertake assessments, reviews, and care plans.

You will need to be competent in your knowledge and use of SSWBA and MCA. You will ideally have a working knowledge of the court of protection process. You will be working with adults with mental health issues and within dementia services.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
