Hoop Social Work are working with a highly regarded fostering organisation who are looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Area Manager to join their leadership team in the South West. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and help shape the ongoing development of fostering services across the region, all while working from home with travel as needed.

Benefits package

  • £60,780 per annum + £1,500 Out-of-Hours Rota Allowance + £750 Homeworking Allowance
  • 35 hours per week
  • Permanent contract
  • Home-based role with travel across the South West

The role

You’ll be responsible for leading a knowledgeable, passionate fostering team, ensuring children and young people receive safe, responsive and high-quality support. You’ll take ownership of service delivery and regulatory compliance, work collaboratively with internal teams, and play a key role in delivering the organisation’s operational plan. The role also includes:

  • Supporting and supervising a diverse, experienced (often remote) team
  • Championing safeguarding and high-quality practice
  • Taking part in the out-of-hours rota
  • Overseeing service monitoring and development
  • Managing budgets and contracts
  • Acting as Panel Advisor when needed

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and inspire confidence across the service. You’ll have:

  • Level 5 Management Qualification, or willingness to enrol within 6 months
  • 3–5 years’ post-qualifying social work experience (fostering or other children’s settings)
  • A strong track record of working with children and promoting positive development
  • Experience managing a diverse team — ideally remotely
  • Confidence in group work and/or delivering training
  • Up-to-date knowledge of fostering legislation & NMS
  • Excellent planning, organisational & communication skills
  • Solid IT ability & confidence using virtual platforms
