Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives? We’re working with Vale of Glamorgan Social Services to recruit a social worker to join their dedicated Learning Disabilities Team on a short-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a supportive service where strengths-based practice and person-centred planning are genuinely embedded.
About the role
You’ll be working closely with individuals and their families to promote independence, wellbeing, and choice — ensuring people can lead fulfilled and purposeful lives within their communities. Day-to-day will include:
- Carrying out assessments and care planning
- Delivering person-centred and strengths-based interventions
- Managing a caseload within a Learning Disabilities team
- Working collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners
- Ensuring plans are outcome-focused and meet performance standards
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience within Learning Disabilities services (essential)
- Strong skills in assessment, care planning, and care management
- Confident using IT systems and managing workloads effectively
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a strong value base
- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
