Gloucestershire County Council are looking for a full-time Social Worker locum to join them for a 3-month opportunity working within Adults Social Care Services in the Cheltenham Locality Team. They are looking for a Social Worker who must be able to listen hard to the people of Gloucestershire, to understand what really matters and to connect them to resources that help them continue with their chosen life, either with support or independently. In this role you will be working with individuals to help them to regain control of their lives in a crisis. Gloucestershire use the Three Conversation approach, a model that re-emphasises focus on people, their strengths and the networks and community around them.

To join the team you need:

  • To be a Social Worker registered with Social Work England with a completed ASYE year or equivalent demonstrable experience in a statutory social work setting
  • To have experience working within Adult Social Care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
  • To have knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to Adult Social Work
  • To hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car (exceptions may apply under the Equality Act)

What can Gloucestershire offer you?

  • £35 per hour;
  • £150 Accommodation / mileage weekly allowance subject to your location
  • Capped caseloads at 25;
  • Guaranteed minimum 3 month placement (subject to renewal)
  • Remote / agile working: Localities - first 2 weeks in the office for a robust induction; thereafter a maximum 2/3 days per week in Gloucestershire to undertake visits / meetings / supervision;
  • Dedicated support with regular supervision and guidance from line management.
