Hoop Social Work are delighted to be supporting Rhondda Cynon Taf Council in the recruitment of Social Workers to join their Adults with Learning Disabilities Team, based at Ty Elai, Williamstown, Rhondda. This is a short-term contract opportunity, created to cover a permanent vacancy within the service. The role will be covering the West of the County working with adults with a learning disability who may also present with additional complexities such as ASD, communication needs, behaviours that challenge, and physical or mental health needs. The team holds long-term cases and works closely within a multi-disciplinary framework, alongside Specialist Learning Disability Health Teams and a range of partner agencies.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Working with individuals living in residential care, supported living, and within the community with family support
- Undertaking assessments, reviews and care planning
- Playing an active role in delivering high-quality, person-centered services
- Supporting and safeguarding individuals from abuse and neglect, working collaboratively with the Safeguarding Team to provide timely and proportionate interventions
What we’re looking for
- A Qualified Social Worker with experience in adults' services, ideally within learning disabilities
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act
- Confidence in risk management and a commitment to strengths-based, outcome-focused practice
- A collaborative approach and the enthusiasm to work within a specialist, supportive team environment
What’s on offer
- Up to £35 per hour via Umbrella Contract for an initial 3 month period
- Full time hours preferred, with flexibility to consider part-time arrangements
- Regular professional supervision and access to peer group supervision
- Predominantly Agile Working, with access to hot-desking at Ty Elai
- All required IT equipment and Agile Working support provided
Requirements to apply
- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving licence with access to a car
