As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors—aligning with Hoop’s core values of integrity, care, and commitment to educational wellbeing.

Working Hours:
Positions are full-time and follow either a split shift (typically early morning and late afternoon) or a full day shift , depending on school requirements.

Rate of pay:

Rate of pay will be dependant on the shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and securing the school site

  • General maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning duties

  • Ensuring safety across school buildings and outdoor areas

  • Reporting any faults or maintenance issues promptly

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Reliable transport to Caerphilly-based schools (car, bike, or public transport)

  • A positive, proactive attitude and a strong sense of responsibility

  • No previous experience necessary—training and support provided
