Payroll Officer in Cardiff

Are you an experienced payroll professional with LGPS knowledge looking for your next temporary role? We’re working with a client who has an excellent opportunity for a Payroll & Pensions Officer to join their team for three months. You’ll work closely with the Payroll & Pensions Coordinator, helping keep monthly payroll running smoothly and making sure employees are paid accurately and on time. It’s a varied role where you can put your payroll and pensions experience to good use, take ownership of your work and be a helpful point of contact for employees. What you’ll be doing: Supporting monthly payroll, including salary changes, statutory payments, deductions and employee benefits. Preparing payroll reports and reconciliations, spotting discrepancies and getting them resolved. Supporting LGPS administration, including pension calculations, contributions and returns. Working with HR to keep employee records accurate and up to date. Answering payroll and pension queries clearly and professionally. Helping prepare information for internal and external audits. What we’re looking for: You’ll have practical payroll experience, a good understanding of LGPS and confidence working with payroll systems. You’ll enjoy getting the details right, be comfortable working to deadlines and communicate well with colleagues. A relevant finance qualification, such as AAT, would be welcome, but equivalent hands-on experience is equally valued. Salary: £15.71-£18.00 Apply Now
